My first experience in a playgroup was rather intimidating. First they went around the room and you had to tell how many kids you have and a little about the one you are with. For those of you that have read some of my early posts, you know the “how many kids do you have?” question is a tough one for me to answer.
Anyway, I got through that part OK and then on to the sing-a-long. I don’t sing in public as I have a horrible voice. I am known as the human jukebox at home though because I can remember every word to every Top 40 song. Do I know any nursery rhymes? Heck no. They were singing song after song about spiders, teddy bears and every other animal (real and stuffed) you could think of. It was probably like watching someone do a bad lip synching gig. Funny part is I know I have heard some of those songs before, but even with my memory for music lyrics I couldn’t remember any of it. I think it comes down to the fact that I don’t really care for that “type” of music.
But it shouldn’t all be about me, should it?
I came home and decided to see what child song I could find on YouTube that we would both enjoy. Low and behold I found a great tune ...
Now, not only do I know all the words, but this song will stop Bodhi mid cry in an instant. I don’t know what it is, but he loves it – even if it is my horrible voice belting it out.
