From the time I was 14 until about 16 I worked at a recreation centre doing maintenance. Not a glorious job, but it put some money in my pocket and kept me out of trouble. One of my big tasks while there was the cleaning of the public washrooms after events (dances, weddings, conferences) YUCK!
I can clean a toilet or urinal like it is nobody’s business but, to this day, I GAG when having to do so – even with my own toilets.
So, when I saw the opportunity to try out the Scrubbing Bubbles One Step Toilet Bowl Cleaner as part of the BzzAgent campaign I jumped OK leapt, at the opportunity.
The one thing to watch out for is when you place the can of spray on the pedal – it says to wait until you hear a “click” however, there was no warning that if you are close to the toilet you will also get sprayed! So my left arm got cleaned in the process and I got to test out the scent firsthand.
I thought that I maybe messed up the installation until I visited a forum on SmartCanucks and noticed that a lot of other people had the same issue.
To keep your bowl fresh and clean all you have to do is depress the pedal for one second twice daily. Simple enough! If you follow these directions, the can of cleanser will last for 30 days. Sounds good to me, but I worry about the design if you have children in the house. I am sure younger children would think it was fun to keep hitting the pedal and there goes your can of cleanser!.
It's also not the nicest looking gadget. Yes, they give you a white paper cylinder to cover the can, but I would prefer to not have stuff on my bathroom floor. I did tuck it behind the toilet so it isn’t an eye sore, but now the pedal is hard to reach.
My husband wanted to “press the pedal” to see how it worked and he got sprayed too.See, I told you children will want to press the pedal :)
So, I have had a few issues with this product, but read some people really do love it. For me it doesn’t work the way I would have hoped and I probably won’t be purchasing more for the other toilets in my house. It’s disappointing really, as I was looking forward to not having to clean those nasty things again!
Disclosure: I was sent this product for free as a part of a BzzAgent campaign
