The best fitting pair of jeans

It is funny how things come full circle. Between the ages of 8 and 12 I hated to wear jeans and lived in my harem pants.  They weren’t’ the crazy ballooned out ones like MC Hammer, more like jogging pants, with pockets and without the fleece.  They were made of cotton and were so comfortable.

Now once again I find my days spent in comfy cotton pants, this time of the yoga variety.   A number of years ago I worked at a jean store so I have a number of pairs of jeans, but after having 2 kids things just don’t look as good as they use to.  Not to mention I was also 10 years younger when I bought them!

I was chosen (and happily so) to attend the She’s Connected Conference in Toronto at the end of September.  Day one everyone will be wearing their jeans.  Even though I live in yoga pants I do enjoy getting out them and wearing a good fitting pair of jeans. BUT, that is where the problem lies, in the fit.

Over the past couple of years I have bought a variety of brands and they all seem to do the same thing to me – grow as I wear them. I hate the baggy bottom thing (even though I use to  live in harem pants!) and it is so hard to know what size to buy when they are skin tight out of the dryer and then require a belt within an hour of wearing them.

The solution?  Second Denim Co.

I was so grateful to have stumbled upon a Canadian denim company called Second Denim Co. If you haven’t heard of them check them out at www.secondclothing.com.  They make a fantastic denim product called Yoga Jeans; that I am sure any women in the search of a good pair of fashionable yet comfortable jeans will love.

Second Denim describes their Yoga Jeans as,
“Offering the flexibility of a yoga garment, Second Yoga Jeans establish a perfect balance between the trendy styling of 5-pocket jeans and the comfort of lounge pants”

I couldn’t agree more. It is like these were made for me: A yoga pant wearing momma that needs to dress it up a bit.

Yoga Jeans come in a variety of styles, fits and washes. You can choose from mid to low rise, from straight to boot cut, from stone to black wash, sizes 24 – 34. There really is something for everyone.

Second Denim Co. has sent me a pair of their mid rise, dark wash jeans to wear and show off at the upcoming conference.  Since receiving them I have been testing them out. They wash fantastically, and the dark color didn’t fade at all. I even wore them during a recent 5 hour flight across the country AND guess what?  When I stood up to get off the plane – no baggy bum!  Right there I was sold.

What are they made of?

Yoga Jeans use denim with 92% shape memory while the industry standard is only 64%.  They are made of  97% brushed cotton and 3% elastane and hug your body just like a good yoga pant or legging does, but are more flattering.

Where to Buy
Yoga Jeans are available from retailers across Canada, US and Europe as well as some online retailers. For a listing of where you too can pick up a pair of stylish and comfortable jeans visit http://www.secondclothing.com/locator.php.

I will be sporting my new denim this week at She’s Connected and will post some pictures from the event and of these fantastic jeans!
